Newborn Twins Found Abandoned In Suitcase In Ditch

A rabbit hunter in Arkansas made a grisly discovery in a roadside ditch that has left many residents shaken. According to WREG, the hunter found a small purple suitcase that contained the remains of two newborn twins.

Police have started an investigation, but currently, do not have much information. Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Nichols from the Cross County Sheriff's Office said they are speaking to several people of interest in the case, but offered few details about the on-going investigation.

Investigators are unsure if the babies were killed before or after they were put in the suitcase. They have sent the remains to the state crime lab so they can determine the time and cause of death.

The police are also asking anybody who may know the identity of the infants to contact them.

The shocking find has left residents shaken and upset. Santia Wallace told WREG, she was in tears when she heard the news.

"When I left work this evening, I was shaken up. Like, I was in tears," said Santia Wallace.

"Here I am want to have kids and for you to, like, kill them? Like, who does that?” she said.

Another resident, Walter Hill, said he was struggling to comprehend how "anybody would abandon two little babies."

"It’s hard to comprehend. I mean, I wouldn’t know why anybody would abandon two little babies like that," said Walter Hill.
