Former Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard Bassett is pregnant.

On Monday (April 15), Dillard Bassett, 37, announced that she was expecting her first child with her husband, Chris Bassett.

Dillard Bassett revealed the exciting news in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"I am about 13 weeks ... so just about into the second trimester," Dillard Bassett said. "It's been weird, but also really wonderful, I think, to keep it kind of to ourselves to this point. ... It's just been, like, kind of quietly just growing a bun."

The former RHOP star followed up her interview with an Instagram video announcing her pregnancy.

"'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.' — Proverbs 3:5-6," Dillard Bassett captioned her post.

The pregnancy news comes after Dillard Bassett announced she was leaving RHOP after six seasons.

“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” the reality star said last month. ”With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”

Dillard Bassett noted of her exit: “This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later.’"

On the show, Dillard Bassett questioned whether she was ready to be a mom as she juggled her music career, moving into a new home, and earning an MBA from Howard University.

"But then I got the itch," Dillard Bassett said in her interview with ET. "I always wondered, like, how would I know when I was ready? And I always felt like a part of my anxiety was that I wasn't sure that I would know, and when I knew, it was undeniable."

The mom-to-be said she underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) in January, using an embryo she froze two years ago. Dillard Bassett and her husband said they had one male embryo and one female embryo, so they don't know the child's gender yet.

"It's so cool that you literally have no idea what you're getting," Dillard Bassett said, noting that she's excited to be a part of the "mom community now." "It's a space I've kind of been peering into from the outside, most of my friends and my cousins have kids. I've helped raise and change diapers and babysit all of my cousins' kids, so it's just gonna be fun to be a part of that community and, you know, to learn and grow as a member now."
